Malana Niemeyer RN-IP, Founder CEO

Malana recognized the need and felt compassion for families navigating the maze of long-term care while working in a short-term therapy unit. In watching families question the next steps to take during a stressful time, she felt compelled to provide help in navigating this process – which is the heart behind Dignified Transitions. Malana’s career in long-term care began as a nursing assistant and grew to what it is today – with over 30 years of experience. Starting as a nursing assistant, she went on to obtain her LPN and RN degree. Throughout her career in elderly care, Malana has experience as a charge nurse, MDS Coordinator, Case Management, Director of Nursing and Infection Control. During this time, she has also learned the ins and outs of Medicare Part A and Managed Care. In step with a core belief of Dignified Transitions, Malana’s passion is to simplify the process, guiding and supporting families in finding their loved one the best care possible that fits their needs and to take care of you, the family, during this transition. 

Jenny Parker RN,C, Founder COO

Jenny started caring for the elderly at age 16 as a certified nursing assistant, where she recognized her passion for serving the elderly. She has over 30 years of experience in the the healthcare industry and is certified in gerontology. During those 30 years, Jenny has worn a variety of hats including many years as Director of Nurses and overseeing care placement in transitional post-hospital care, including in mental health. She has served on care boards and committees for a number of years with Leading Age of Minnesota, and as President of the Minnesota Director of Nursing Administration. Jenny recognizes that the healthcare system is complex, but in utilizing her experience, she will advocate and guide you in finding a place for care, as well as understanding insurance coverage. Jenny has a heart for serving others, which has further come to light through helping several family members and community members navigate the health care process. She believes in the wellness and resiliency for caregivers, including you, the family. Jenny will answer your questions with compassion and honesty.
